Reykjavik, Iceland: Restaurant Reykjavik; restaurant review

Restaurant Reykjavik

Vesturgötu 2, 552-3030.  D daily; $$$.

Situated in the heart of the city inside a four-story historical house known as the Old Dock, Restaurant Reykjavik is one of Iceland’s largest restaurants.  It is the city’s third-oldest house (1863) and before landfill was located on the waterfront.

The chefs know what they are doing, and the servers are delightful.

My dinner here consisted of an Arctic char appetizer and a main of monkfish with Hollandaise and potatoe cake, washed down with a lovely Italian Pinot Grigio.  White chocolate cake with caramel paste was the satisfying conclusion.
